I'm back from my first day at the farm this summer!

I love working at the farm... it's like... It's good, honest, tiring work. It makes me feel like a good person when I come home and my body is tired from milking cows and goats and feeding baby animals and rounding up chickens. Does that makes any sense? Maybe that's a woodchuck (backwoods, country-girl) kind of thing to feel. XD.

We have four goat kids this year- Feta and Lady Slippers both had twins. Last year, Feta's kid was stillborn, so it's not just "Feta had twins." It's, "Feta had twins! FETA HAD TWINS!!!" I love Feta~ She was the best baby.

Lady's are only three days old, so we haven't named them yet, but I'm rooting for the names "Poppy" and "Ginko," even though Ginko isn't technically a flower (Lady Slippers is from the flower line, so we have to name them after flowers). Feta's are named "Gorgon" and "Zola." I love the cheese line. XD. It's too cute- names like Bleu, Gouda, Muenster and Monterey Jack are cute.

AND! We have a new goat- the first in at least four years that wasn't born at the farm. Her name's Blossom and she's pure white (not tawny, like Feta). She was born in March, so she's a tween in goat years. She lives with the nanny goats, but they bully her terribly, since she's so young. But she's far too old to live with the kids, so the poor thing is stuck there. Luckily, Jane, (the boss goat) has taken Blossom under her wing to an extent, so she isn't as much of an outcast anymore. She's really suspicious of people, since she was udder-fed, not bottle fed (never interacted with humans). She's warming up to us, though! ♥
